My Summer Garden Blooms

I am in my garden every day – in the morning, I go out there and water all my blooming beauties as well as remove as many spent blooms as possible. Last year, we visited beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake and the one thing that you absolutely have to admire are the incredible flowers that adore downtown core. I had the chance to talk to one man, who was taking care of the flowers and he told me that the most important thing is to keep the plants well watered – especially during hot summer days and constantly keep removing blooms that are finished or close to being finished blooming. And it works – since I have been doing that, he blooms in my garden are doing very well.

Enjoy these pictures and hope you will send in your garden beauties as well!

What used to be an empty space beside the house is now a piece of my garden I am very proud of. Combination of 2 different walkways with large pots of blooming flowers forming a border on side of steps from a walkout and a rock garden ending up with grapevine over a homemade archway.

Love the large planters placed beside steps from walkout - I placed lights into them and the picture is even better at night!

Looking at the side walkway from the garden side, one of my favourite blooms are the deep purple/blue petunias in 2 hanging baskets. I got them from a local market at greatly discounted price - they were half dead but came back to life beautifully with some TLC

Another one of my favorites - these deep red lilies really should bloom year round!

My pride and joy - beautiful white climbing rose that blooms non-stop - absolutely gorgeous to look at!

My trumpet vine just started blooming - there is over 100 red trumpet flowers on it now and I am hoping it will attract hummingbirds

These petunias are incredible - more purple than it shows in this picture

Geraniums are always great to add to the garden - they will blooms non stop - all you have to do is keep removing those that are almost finished blooming

Hope you have enjoyed this post – please send in your comments, suggestions and experiences – your input is always welcomed and much appreciated!
