Safety is very important all the time – but on the Halloween it is even more so – please read the following tips and refresh your memory – everyone wants to have a safe and happy experience!

Ten Halloween Safety Tips

  1. Children should always be accompanied by an adult

  2. Children should wear clothing that is easily visible in the dark – reflective materials are the best.

  3. Trick or treat in areas that are well known to children and do not wonder into unknown neighbourhoods

  4. All candies need to be carefully inspected by adults to make sure they have not been tampered with. If you find a suspicious candy, you need to contact the police.

  5. Children need to be told to stay away from stray animals

  6. Children should wear masks that do not interfere with their vision. It is much better to create a face mask using make up.

  7. Children need to watch for any vehicles on the road very carefully and not run across the streets.

  8. Costumes need to be short enough to make sure the child doesn’t trip.

  9. All trick or treaters should carry a flashlight and be dressed appropriately for the weather

  10. If you have a smallest doubt about letting children go house to house, organize a party for children in the neighbourhood!

Have a safe and Happy Halloween and send your comment, suggestions and experiences in – your input is always welcomed!

You don’t have to spend lots of money to create some nice Halloween decorations – little bit of creativity and a few hours will get the job done!

Here are some ideas and instructions for you:

Fabulous Pumpkin Vase

pumpkin-centrepiece

Make natural vases from gourds and small pumpkins for the holiday table, and fill them with autumn-hued flowers and leaves. These are pretty set on the burlap table runner and you can use a scrap of the burlap to make a fringe collar.

You need:

  • 2 small pumpkins or gourds
  • Sharp paring knife or razor knife
  • Spoon
  • Aluminum foil
  • Florist foam
  • Scissors
  • Fresh and dried flowers, grasses, and seedpods
  • 3-inch green, wired picks (available at florist shops or craft stores)
  • 2 burlap strips (approximately 15 by 2 inches; optional)• Straight pins

To make:

  • Cut out the tops of the pumpkins with a sharp knife, and scoop out the pulp with a spoon.
  • Line the pumpkins with foil. (Most pumpkins and gourds will remain watertight for several days, but lining them with foil gives added protection against leakage.)
  • Cut the florist foam to flt inside each pumpkin, and add just enough water to saturate the foam.
  • Arrange the flowers, grasses, and seedpods. Any tender flower stems can be secured and strengthened, using a wired pick.

Candy Corn Treat Jar

candycornjar3

Baby food jar (or any size jar you want)
Enough candy corn to fill jar
Black and White paints- to be able to wash the jar after it is painted, use air-dry enamel paints
Clear satin glaze for air-dry enamel paints or clear gloss glaze
5-inch square of Halloween print fabric
Ribbon or raffia

  • Thoroughly wash the jar and lid in hot soapy water. When completely dry, fill with candy corn, packing tightly.
  • Put on lid and shake jar. If candies shift or settle, open jar, add more candy corn and replace lid. Repeat as needed until candies can’t move.
  • Paint glass with a basecoat of clear satin glaze. Let dry.
  • Look for candy pieces that can be seen in full view from the outside of the jar. On jar, paint faces so they appear to be on these candy pieces.
  • To paint the faces, use the tip of a paintbrush handle to dab on two white dots for each set of eyes. When dry, use a toothpick to dab a tiny black dot in each eye, changing position on each face as shown in the picture.
  • Use a No. 0 (fine) brush and black paint to paint each mouth as shown or as desired. When dry, add another coat if needed. Let dry.
  • Add topcoat of glaze. Let dry.
  • Center the fabric square on top of the lid. Tie ribbon or raffia around the rim of the jar to hold fabric in place and make a bow. To make it easier to keep the fabric in place while tying the bow, first put a rubber band around lid.

Ghost Wind Twirler:

ghost-milkc11

  • Trace ghost pattern on to side of milk carton and cut out.
  • Draw face with permanent marker on both sides of the plastic.
  • Using a hole-punch, make holes in top and bottom of ghost.
  • Thread strong string or fishing line through top hole for a hanger.
  • Thread string or fishing line through bottom hole and fasten a bell on the end for weight and a little music as the wind blows.

Spider Hat:

spiderhatbear1

This party hat is so fun—you really can’t get the idea of the bouncing legs until you put him on!!!

Materials needed:
Black and orange construction paper
Ruler, scissors and glue or tape

Cut eight strips of black paper 1-1/2″ by 9″ (these will be the legs).

Cut two strips 2″ by 11″ (these you will need to glue together to make the 2″ by 22″ hat band).

Cut two 2″ black circles, two 1-1/2″ orange circles, two 1″ black circles (these are the eyes).

Fit the 2″ wide strips, that were glued together, around the person’s head– overlap and glue ends together. Glue the eyes to the hat band with the eyes touching as shown. Fold the leg strips in half, then fold one end of each leg strip back 1″ for the foot. Glue the straight end to the inside edge of the hat band. Fold and glue remaining legs. You will have four legs on each side of your hat as shown.Put it on and have fun bouncing up and down!!!!

Hope you will have fun making these – please send in your comments and suggestions – your input is always appreciated!

Halloween Pet Safety

pirate-300x300Halloween can be full of temptations and danger for pets – and not in the candy and the opened front door. Your pet need to be looked after with extra care during Halloween and here are some tips that will help you avoid a potentially hearth-breaking situation.

  • One thing you want to make sure about is that your dog or cat are wearing ID tags and that the besgt and safest place for them is indoors.
  • Don’t leave your dog or cat out in the yard – there are plenty of stories of vicious pranksters who have harmed pets on Halloween – especially black cats.
  • Candies are definitely not good for your pets – both cats and dogs. Chocolate is poisonous and tin foil and cellophane wrappers can be hazardous if swallowed.
  • If you are putting a costume on your dog, make sure that it isn’t constricting or unsafe. Be careful not to obstruct the pet’s vision. Even the friendliest and sweetest dog can get snappy when he doesn’t see what is going on around him.
  • It is not a good idea to let the family dog accompany your children on their trick-or-treat mission without the company of an adult. Children may a have difficult time handling the pet with so many others around.
  • Keep decoration that your pet could chew on – like streamers, spider webs, wires and cords – out of reach.
  • Place live flame decoration like candles and jack- o’-lanterns out of your pet’s reach. Curious critters risk being burned by the flame – and they could easily knock over a candle or pumpkin and cause a fire.
  • It is a good idea to keep your pet in a quiet place, away form trick-or-treaters and other Halloween activities. Dogs and cats are creatures of habit and could easily become frightened or agitated by the strange sights and sounds of costumed visitors.
  • And once more – make sure your pets is wearing ID tags – all it takes is an opened door and attention to elsewhere to find yourself searching for your pet.
  • And if you cat or dog will be outside, make sure that they are visible to others – reflective or flashing collar or a tag will fo the trick.

Have a happy and safe Halloween and remember that your comments are always welcomed here!

header_halloween_funI really think the idea is to create Halloween costume that will not cost a fortune ,make heads turn and people smile. It is not all the difficult and here are 10 ideas for you that will for help you accomplish it!

Kitty Kat

Kitty Kat

1 – Kitty Kat

This very simple, but pretty impressive looking costume is really easy to make. Start with a black sweat suit. Make a cat ear headband:

Using construction paper, cut a strip about 2 inches wide and long enough to wrap around your head. You will want to make it couple inches longer so that you will have room to staple the ends together. Fold another piece of paper in a half and cut out pointy ears. At this point, you can add striped, spots or any other design you want by drawing them on with magic marker.

Put the bottom edge of each ear against the strip of paper you had already cut and staple or tape them into place. And then just staple or tape ends of the headband together so that it fits snugly around your head.

Next – use piece of felt or more construction paper to cut out a long thin tail. Using safety pins, attach it to the back side of your sweat pants.

Using black eyeliner or face paints, make yourself whiskers and black nose.

You could stop there or add feather boa – easy to pick up at a dollar store or a craft store.  Cut it into sections to fit around neck, arms and also use it for the tail. The boa pieces can be attached with safety pins.

Kandy Kane

Kandy Kane

2 – Kandy Kane

Incredibly easy costume to make! All you need is a long sleeve white T-shirt, pair of long while pants (long underwear will do nicely) and red and green duct tape. Just stick the tape to the clothes in alternating colours – the way striped are on candy canes. When you are doing it, make sure you put the tape on loosely – it will have a much better effect.

Large Styrofoam candy cane can be picked up at a dollar store or easily made by cutting cardboard, wrapping white paper around it (you can use paper towels or white kitchen garbage bags to so that) and wrapping tape around.

Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown

3 – Charlie Brown

There isn’t a costume that is much easier to put together than this one. Black short, socks and shoes that you already have to start with. Then all you need is yellow T-shirt – second hand stores have tons of them! And then cut the zig-zag pattern from old black T-shirt of any black material. Attach the zig-zag pattern to the yellow T-shirt by either sewing it on or using fabric glue and you are done !

Witch

Witch

4 – Witch

To start – check out boxes of stuff you may have in your storage – or visit second hand store. You will not have any problems finding pieces of clothing to make this costume out of. You will want to find a hat with the wig attached – easiest way to do this. Then you will need a black turtleneck shirt or sweater and a leotard. You should be able to find the stripped leotard in a store like Wal-mart or you could also use black leotard and stripped socks.

Cut an old dress or a skirt into ragged strips and pin each strip onto a black elastic belt.

You can embellish the costume by attaching a large silk flower and a broom to make it complete.

Old Lady

Old Lady

5 – Old Lady

Another – how much easier could this be? Costume!

Find and old dress – the more flowers or brighter colours the better. Then you will need couple of baby blankets and couple of Depends undergarments. First – fold up the baby blankets and the Depends. Put on an old pair of knit shorts and place them in the back to add to your backside.

Then put on the old dress,. Tie it with an old belt and place the folded baby blankets in the fron to make it looks like your bosoms have fallen. Put your hair up and add powder to make them gray. Use the baby powder all over your face to make it pale and add lines and wrinkles with eyeliner pencil.

To “dress” this up even more, add long necklace, purse with candy in it and whatever else you may think of. And make sure you talk with a cracked voice and call every young guy “Sonny”!

Mad Scientist

Mad Scientist

6 – Mad Scientist

Using clothes you already have is one of the best ideas – to top it of, you won’t spend a tons of money!

Start with  white dress shirt and black slacks. Slick back hair with hair gel or hair spray.

You will need to find a pair of glasses (you can remove the lenses easily) and play doctor set. Nice touch is a small notepad and crayons in the pocket and Bad-Aids in the pant pocket.

Mother Nature

Mother Nature

7 – Mother Nature

Start with a brown track suit – or brown sweater and brown pants if that is what you have on hand.

The – using glue gun, start attaching items that will represent each season – like snow ornaments, snowflakes, fall leaves, ivy, flowers, birds, butterflies – whatever you can think of. You can find a piece of blue netting or blue sheer material to represent water. You can glue on sea shells and pieces of corral to the belt.

And here is a fun item that really makes this costume great – pair of animal shoes! Just a pair of old slipper and stuffed animals of your choice will do that!

Pets for Sale

Pets for Sale

8 – Pets for Sale

Find a large cardboard box and wrap it in paper (your choice). Attach wide ribbon to make suspenders that will make the box hang over shoulders.

Get some poster board or construction paper and make a sign that says: Animals for Sale and a dollar amount. You can add paw prints to make the box more decorative. Glue the sign on front of the box.

Glue or staple small stuffed animals everywhere you can think of – including pinning some to the clothing!

Popcorn Box

Popcorn Box

9 – Popcorn Box

Find a large cardboard box and cut off the top where your head will be. On the bottom, cut holes for your legs – but make sure you don’t cut the holes too big – you will be putting balloons inside the box.

Then cut holes in the sides for your arms. When you are done cutting, paint the box with white and red stripes (poster paint should do the trick)

Then make sign that says “Popcorn” and attach it to the front of your box.

You will need white and yellow balloons – blown up on various sizes to represent the popcorn kernels.

Put on white t-Shirt, white sweat pants, step into the popcorn box and have someone fill it with balloons, you can add white hat with pieces of real popcorn glued to it  - and you are ready to go!

Super Baby

Super Baby

10 – Super Baby

This outfit will put smiles on everyone’s face! All you need is a piece of red fabric for the cape and a blue T-Shirt,to which you attach the red “S” symbol cut out of felt and attached to a piece of yellow felt. Matching blue pants or suitable red pants will make the easiest ever baby costume!

I hope you will have fun making these costumes and that you will have a happy and safe Halloween! Please send in your comments, suggestions and experiences – your input is always welcomed!

Halloween Party Planning Tips

halloween_party_flyerHalloween parties can be a lot of fun – but if you are not sure where to start and how to go about organizing it, it can create stress nobody needs! I have put together some tips for you – check them out and decide to have the best Halloween party ever!

The Guest List

Everything you will plan for your Halloween party will depend on who you are going to invite. Send invitations out early enough to allow for R.S.V.P’s and follow up with those who fail to respond personally to confirm your guest list.

If  Halloween falls on a weekday, consider scheduling the party for the weekend before so that you have plenty of time to set up and your guests will not have to worry about getting up early the next day. I Halloween is on the weekend, keep in mind that those who have children will need to come to your party at a later hour – after trick-or-treating.

The Place:

Deciding on the place will also depend on how many guests you will have attending. If it is too many guests for your place, or you have restricted parking, consider asking a friend if they would be interesting in co-hosting the party with you.

The Invitations:

If you decide to have a theme for your party, make sure your invites go along with the theme. Some popular themes include:

Ghost Invitations – Place a white handkerchief out on a table and write the invitation information in a spiral around the edges, leaving the centre white. When finished writing, wrap the handkerchief around a lollipop (writing out), fasten with a ribbon at the neck of the lollipop, make 2 dots with black marker for eyes and send the invitation in a padded envelope.

Gravestone Invitations – Cut a gravestone shape out of grey construction paper. Write R.I.P in big letters at the top. Write your invitation information underneath. Fold your invitation in half lengthwise, sprinkle a little black and orange confetti in the middle, and mail your guests a fun surprise!

Pumpkin Invitations – Punch a hole in the corner of a card-style invitation, and tie it with black or orange string to a mini pumpkin (available at most grocery stores). Hand-deliver each guest’s invitation.

Candy Invitations – Hide card-style invitations in small jars filled with candy corn. (Pickle jars or small jelly jars work well.) Hand-deliver your invitations to each guest.

If you are mailing invitations send them out at least two weeks before the party. Hand delivery works well if you are planning last minute, or would like a quicker response on your RSVP. Follow-up with a phone call to those who have not RSVP’d you five days prior to the party. Address any concerns your friends have and try to get a commitment one way or the other. When a friend declines, politely express your disappointment AND understanding. Take note of that guest side list you made in the beginning and fill in the holes.

Party Food and Refreshments

  • Serve finger foods that come in Halloween colors, such as orange slices, Cheetos, baby carrots, cheddar cheese cubes, Ho-Hos, black licorice, and blackberries. Make fruit kabobs by alternating purple grapes and cantaloupe on wooden skewers.
  • Use your favorite Halloween cookie cutters to cut soft sandwiches, such as peanut butter & jelly or tuna fish, into spooky shapes, like ghosts, bats, and pumpkins. You can also use mini cookie cutters to cut pumpkins out of orange cheese slices and ghosts and skulls out of white cheese slices to serve with Ritz crackers.
  • Create spider treats by inserting eight pretzel sticks (four on each side) into the filling of Ritz peanut butter crackers. With a dab of peanut butter, set two raisin “eyes” on top. (To accommodate children with peanut allergies, make your own cracker sandwiches using plain or flavored cream cheese as the filling.)
  • Prepare chocolate pudding in clear plastic cups. Stick a vanilla wafer “gravestone” in each cup, with one half beneath the pudding surface and the other half sticking up, and draw an outline of the grave in green cake decorating gel.
  • Place chips and dips like salsa and guacamole in bowls on the food table. Prop small plastic spiders and rats up on the bowls.
  • Wrap one half of cocktail sausages in thin strips of a four tortilla. Place a dab of ketchup on the other end to look like a toenail. Call these “monster toes”.
  • Serve a spooky punch like Swamp Juice. Empty a 13-oz. package of Kool-Aid into a punch bowl. Add 1 cup sugar and 8 cups water, and stir until dissolved. Stir in 1 can frozen orange juice concentrate. Just before serving, add 4 cups ginger ale and 3 scoops orange sherbet. This will create a putrid green color that will look awful but taste delicious! Add small plastic spiders or raisins to serve as “bugs” for an extra creepy effect! And of course-if you are serving alcohol-add as much vodka to this as you feel safe to do!

halloween_decorating_ideas_spookyboo-homemade-halloween-decorationsangela_gothicglam_2Halloween Party Decorations:

  • Turn your home into the spookiest place ever! Here are some creative ideas for Halloween party decorations:
  • Create artificial mist! Fill buckets halfway with water, and add dry ice. There should be enough water to cover the dry ice, and the proportions should be 2 parts water to 1 part dry ice. Warmer water will create thicker smoke, but it will disappear quickly. Cooler water will create thinner smoke, but it will linger longer. Place the buckets around the party area, but make sure the children can’t get into them. Dry ice is dangerous when touched.
  • Inflate a variety of white balloons with helium. Cover each balloon with a small white sheet or square cut from an old sheet, and draw eyes and a mouth on each with a black marker. Float the ghosts around the party area. For extra eeriness, insert a glow stick in each balloon before inflating.
  • Cover the party food table with a black or orange tablecloth and a selection of scary items such as plastic bugs, rats, and skulls.
  • Hang orange and black streamers from the ceiling in the party area.
  • Cover shoeboxes with brown or black construction paper, and line the inside of each with red felt. Lay plastic or rubber skeletons inside, and set the “coffins” around the party area.
  • Make your own window coverings by cutting silhouettes of cats, bats, pumpkins and spiders out of black construction paper or felt. Tape the cutouts to your window, and then cover the entire window with white paper or a sheet. Make sure the white covering fits the window exactly. Place a light source behind the window to make the scary silhouettes visible from the street.
  • Purchase neon black lights, and place them in the party area. This will create an eerie glow and make all the white items in the room – like the mist and ‘ghosts’ – really stand out.
  • Keep it simple with crepe paper and balloons or go all out and create your own Haunted House.
  • For an easy Haunted House get some blank newsprint/butcher paper and hang from ceiling to floor in the party room, hallways and kitchen.
  • Now your walls are your canvas! Before you hang it, paint the paper in dark colors, with creepy scenes.
  • Add cobwebs in the corners that stretch across the ceiling, complete with spiders. Hang bats from the ceiling.
  • Paint a skeleton onto a wall with glow-in-the-dark paint.
  • Or cover your walls with black garbage bags and throw some fake cobwebs around – this works really well in the basement room, where there is already limited lighting.
  • Turn your kitchen into a mad scientist’s laboratory. Perhaps you’d like to have some mystery drawers guests can reach into and be surprised.
  • Don’t forget the scary music and sound effects!

Hope these tips were helpful to you and that you will have the best Halloween party ever! Send me your comments, suggestions and experiences – your input is always welcomed!

42-15355717Kids get excited about Halloween – getting dressed up, getting tons of sweets and having fun. Not so much fun for parents, especially those on who are on a tight budget.

Believe me – you can improvise and get a good costume made right in your home and at a fraction of what it would cost to buy one! Here are a few ideas for you – not meant to create the exact replica of pictures, but to give you ideas as to what you can do!

98827l

Ghost

Ghost: so easy and totally inexpensive! Just get a white sheet from your linen closet you can part with – and if you don’t have one, visit a second hand store. You will most definitely find one there for as little as a $1. Cut holes where your child’s eyes and mouth would be and if you want, use a black permanent marker to draw things like a spider web, chains, etc.

Hobo

Hobo

Hobo: Visit those boxes in your basement or attic where you stored old clothes. May be you planned to use them for gardening – but they will become handy to make a hobo costume. And how difficult can it be to get your kid’s face dirty?

Clown

Clown

Clown: Go through your closets and pull out clothes that are too small or too old. Mismatched patterns, colours that don’t go together, etc. – picture a rodeo clown and go from there. You can make a hat from construction paper or use an old hat and decorate it with used silk flowers. If you are going to use large shoes, make sure your child can walk safely in them!

Little Princess

Little Princess

Little Princess - I am sure you have old lacey slips in your drawers – maybe even some you don’t remember anymore. Get some fancy sparkley netting at a discount store – it wont cost you more than couple of dollars. Decorate the slip with it – if you put it around the bottom edge, it will look really royal and add to the richness of the outfit! Go through your jewellery – bet you have some that will greatly enhance the outfit! You can fashion a little crown with cardboard covered with aluminum foil and glue beads on it – just get creative – this has to be one of the easiest costumes to make!

Angel

Angel

Angel: As easy as the ghost one – start with a white sheet. Spray it lightly with clear spray paint and toss glitter on it. Do this while the paint is wet – you want the glitter to stick to the material. Halo and wings are easily made using wire coat hangers covered with aluminum foil. You can make a fancy belt or add accessories as you see fit.

Tourist: You know that ancient summer shirt with flowers that you tried to throw away so many times? Start with that one – as long as the colours are nice and loud. Add a typically touristy hat, camera around the neck, stick a map in every pocket…. and there you go!

thanksgiving-table-7-de1It is quite possible that you have often wondered where to put what on your dinner table. And lots of times-you might do what I do-just put utensils, dinnerware and glassware where it looks good and where there is space for it. After all-you want to include some decorations, napkins, place cards and of course-serving dishes with all the food!

Here is a chart for you to make it easy. I found that this is actually very helpful and uses table space effectively:

table_setting

  • Decide how many quests you will be serving
  • If you will have guests who don’t know each other, create table setting with name place cards
  • Arrange your guests logically – meaning : if you know that one person is shy, sit them next to a person who is easy going. And remember – the cook should sit closest to the kitchen
  • If you have young children attending your dinner, seat them next to their parents
  • Make sure you know if any guests have dietary restrictions – i.e. allergy to nuts
  • After you have determined your menu, you will be able to figure out what dishes, glassware, utensils and serving dishes you will need.
  • Decide on your colour scheme. This may start with picking your tablecloth and napkins. I usually pull out what I have and pay it out on my dining room table. It might surprise you how many things you would see that will create an interesting colour match and give you more decorating ideas
  • Next – decide if you want a centerpiece. The kind of centerpiece you will be looking for will be one that will least obstruct everything else you need to place on the table. It is much nicer if you can leave your selected centerpiece on your table during dinner – especially if it has candles. But sometimes you will need to move it to place your serving dishes on the table. But either way – it is a good idea to give this some thought ahead of time.
  • Give yourself enough time to decide on other table decoration – ones that will complement the overall table setting and your centerpiece.
  • If you have children, involve them in making the decorations or even participating in gathering materials and putting together the centerpiece. They will take pride in being helpful and their behaviour at the dinner will show it!
  • It is really a good idea to set your table day before your dinner – it will give you a chance to take your time and make changes – plus – it will avoid any rush the day of your special dinner. And that means avoiding stress, which is always a good thing!
  • Place your selected tablecloth (or placemats if that is what you decided on) on the table. If the tablecloth is thin, put a pad under to prevent damage from heat.
  • If you are serving a seated meal, the tablecloth should hang about a foot over the edge of the table. If you are setting up a buffet table, the tablecloth should hang to the floor.
  • Next – place dinner plates in front of each seat, about one inch from the edge of the table.
  • Then – start laying out your silverware. You can follow the chart provided for you on previous page and remembering that utensils should be positioned one inch form the table edge, evenly spaced.
  • Determining how and where to place the napkin will depend on whether you will be using it as a part of your decor. If you will tie a decorative ribbon or use special napkin rings, you may want to lay the decorated napkin over the dinner plate on an effective angle.
  • Water glasses go about 2 inches above the knife to the right and to the right of them, you place your wine glasses.
  • If you are planning on serving coffee or tea, place the cup and saucer to the right of the setting. I find that it is easier and saves table space to have a separate table set for coffee, tea, dessert places and dessert serving platters. Again – this will largely depend on space you have available and on your choice.
  • Bread plate with small butter knife should be set about 2 inches above the forks.
  • Any condiments you will need should be positioned where they can be easily reached

Easy centerpieces:

autumn-centerpiece-cp1005-deYou can purchase bouquets of fall flowers at your local market-or if you can’t get to one, silk flowers will do as well. Use a simple bowl to arrange them for an effective centerpiece (using florist foam to stick them in works the best. And if You choose to use fresh flowers like mums, soaking the foam with water will keep them fresh for days! Add small versions of your centerpiece on each place setting or a single flower with each napkin.

centerpieceThis is a very effective and totally easy to make centerpiece! Just put some cranberries into a nice glass dish, place tea lights in them-and there you go!

table-decorTall glass jar or hurricane lamp can become a great centerpiece by adding some fall leaves in it. If you can’t get nicely coloured leaves, get silk ones-one stem of them will do wonders!

gt03novmsl_cornhuskvotives_xlSimple votive candles become beautiful parts of a centerpiece when wrapped in corn husks, ties with a ribbon or twine and to match-corn husk wrapped short vase with flowers for the centre of the table. This looks awesome when the flowers are surrounded with lit up votives!

For each new morning with its light,
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food,
