My Wish For You

We all say it: “We wish you all the best, peace, health and happiness…..” – lovely words and I am not making fun of them at all. I was just sitting here wondering what else I could say that means so much to me and just how to let people I love and care about just how much I wish only the best for them. In a way, there is so much to say and to try to express everything correctly is not always easy.

Here are some of my – straight from the heart – wishes for all those who are so very important in my life and all of you who are reading these notes:

I WISH – that you never ever have to face the reality of tragically loosing a loved one – especially a child of yours. My son died in a car accident this past February and when you hear that your life completely turns around and is never the same….those words cannot even closely describe the feelings and emotions.

I WISH – that you are able find as many bright moments in your life, no matter what your situation is. Enjoy not only sunny days, but also the rainy ones, enjoy not only happy smiles, but also the tears, enjoy every moment of your life as it happens and believe that there is something very special and very good about it.

I WISH – that you see and appreciate the power of child’s smile and the treasure of child’s mind. From a little innocent baby to a child who is not a child anymore in the eyes of the world, but will always be a child in the eyes of his mother. Those two descriptions mean something very special to me because they both gave me strength and hope in the past year. The beautiful innocent, smiling baby – my grandson, whose precious smile and outstretched arms were healing bandages for my pain each and every day. And my younger son – whose incredible strength, attitude, graciousness, love and respect became my rock like never before.

I WISH – that you truly appreciate that one special person who is with you through all the good and bad and cares deeply about your well-being before his own. I wish you have someone like I have in my husband and best friend  and that you do all you can to show your love and gratitude for being allowed to share their life with them. Do not let a day go by without letting them know that you love them, expressing your feelings in exchange for theirs is not a weakness, it is an incredible strength that makes your life worth living.

I WISH – that you find the strength to identify negative influences in your life and learn to leave them behind. This means people who have negative attitudes, people who put themselves, their needs and their feelings  ahead of all others, who are selfish enough and hard-headed enough to never be able to say they are sorry for hurt and sadness they caused. Those who crave power over others no matter of what the cost may be – those are best to leave to their own challenges. You can forgive them for hurting you because that will give you peace but you do have to leave them to be able to forgive themselves.

I WISH – that you surround yourselves with people who have values, people who are always there to lend a helping hand and who find happiness in doing so. Good friends will put a smile on your face and you will be able to lean on them when there is a need to do that. And here is the more rewarding side of having good people in your life – being there for them when they need you, being able to help when help is needed, experiencing the satisfaction of being a good friend.

There are a lot more wishes I could be adding here – but those you just read are the most important to me and my wish for you into the year 2011 is that you find peace and happiness in every day of your life and enjoy those you love finding the same.

Without wanting to be too … whatever you want to call it – here is song for you for 2011 –
